The G.R.O.W.T.H. Mentorship Program

• G.R.O.W.T.H. (Girls Realizing Our Worth Through Healing) is the central program of Seeds of Sisterhood, Inc. It is a year round mentoring program that assists girls and young women ages 8-21 years to cope with the new or existing challenges of adolescence and young adulthood by participating in a fun but structured, progressive series of goal-related activities designed to expand their way of thinking. This program plants seeds that encourages each participant to develop social/life skills, emotional awareness, and grow holistically through mindful exercises. Youth will learn to mentally take charge of their own well-being, practice personal and safe boundaries .

• The young ladies will also participate in community outreach and volunteer, enrichment activities, and receive 1:1 and group mentoring. S.O.S. mentors are present to assist youth as they gain the ability to lead themselves and others on a purposeful path of action. During the program duration, youth will learn the ability to analyze their own strengths and weaknesses, set personal and vocational goals, and have the self-confidence to pursue and stay committed so they may achieve their goals.

• Participants are divided into three groups based on their age and grade level, but are occasionally gathered as one large group to participate in special program occasions. The program ends with an end of the year celebration! Volunteers/mentors, parents, and youth have the option to remain together within the program, and to continue mentorship after the program calendar year is completed.
